DC or Direct Current is an electrical current which only flows in one direction. In DC motors the direct power source (AC) connects to a transformer which converts the power to DC. This decreases the amount of power used by only using a direct current instead of an alternating one. The DC motor uses a system of magnets of opposing polarity to create the force needed to rotate the motor’s rotor.
